Northwestern University and the City of Evanston will offer a bulk pickup program to help students and others moving to the off-campus area deal with large items left behind by previous tenants.
The first 200 residents of the area next to the Evanston campus who call the city by Friday, Sept. 25, to have large trash items removed will receive that service at no charge.
The offer applies to the area indicated on the map — bounded by Ridge and Orrington avenues and Colfax and Emerson streets.
If you have moved into an apartment with unwanted items left by previous tenants, please follow the procedure below to be considerate of all your new neighbors – students and non-students.
To request a pickup call at 311 Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you call from outside Evanston, dial 847-448-4311.
