Burglary

700 Hinman

Someone forced open the door to an apartment in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue between 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and 7:06 a.m. Saturday and stole a guitar, a guitar case, and an amplifier.

1800 Howard

A burglar gained access to a restaurant in the 1800 block of Howard Street by breaking glass around 3:45 a.m. Thursday.

800 Simpson

An attempt was made to pry open a door to an apartment in the 800 block of Simpson Street between 11 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Friday.

1600 Ridge

An unlocked door provided access for a burglar to an apartment in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue between 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday. A computer was among items found missing.

Battery

930 Judson

Ryan A. Illg, 27, of 930 Judson Ave., was arrested at that address at 7:41 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Nov. 29 at 9:30 a.m.

Criminal Damage

1000 Darrow

A 1998 Lexus sustained scratches between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Darrow Avenue.

Graffiti

Dempster at Sherman

Graffiti was discovered on railroad property at Dempster Street and Sherman Avenue at 7:51 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Central

Graffiti was discovered at a restaurant in the 1900 block of Central Street at 7:56 a.m. yesterday.

700 Howard

Graffiti was discovered at a church in the 700 block of Howard Street at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.

California at Jerome

DeWayne Martinez-Roberts, 22, of 2122 Dobson St., was arrested at California Avenue and Jerome Street, Chicago, at 9:18 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

2827 Birchwood

Kenneth C. Sandy, 25, of 3107 W. Devon Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2827 W. Birchwood, Chicago, at 10:08 p.m. yesterday and charged with resisting an officer.

Shots Heard

2900 Payne

Gunshots were reported in the 2900 block of Payne Street at 7:21 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Ashland at Lyons

Gunshots were reported near Ashland Avenue and Lyons Street at 5:06 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

600 Chicago

Hygiene products were taken from a pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

2400 Main

Clothing items were taken from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street around 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

Seward at Elmwood

Someone attempted to grab a 20-year-old woman’s purse near Seward Street and Elmwood Avenue at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday. When the victim recognized the suspect, he fled.

700 Michigan

A package delivered to a home in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue was stolen shortly after midnight on Thursday.

1600 Chicago

A wallet was taken from an unlocked locker at a retirement home in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesday.

1100 Hinman

A 2014 Toyota was stolen from the 1100 block of Hinman Avenue between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

1300 Ashland

Vehicle parts that had been delivered to the yard of a home in the 1300 block of Ashland Avenue were stolen between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday.

1700 Orrington

A bicycle locked to a bike rack was stolen from the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

2100 Green Bay

Jacqueline M. Dunn, 43, of 1913 Foster St., was arrested at 2100 Green Bay Road at 12:18 p.m. Thursday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on Jan. 10 at 9 a.m.

1640 Chicago

Brian S. Silliman, 44, of 1406 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1640 Chicago Ave. at 8:38 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Dec. 13 at 9 a.m.

2301 Howard

Emmanuel H. Smith, 18, of 2230 Foster St., was arrested at 2301 Howard St. at 5:23 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

Traffic

1919 Dempster

James A. Collins, 33, of 421 Asbury Ave., was arrested at 1919 Dempster St. at 5:48 a.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.
