A burglar climbed through an unlocked window of a home in the 800 block of Hartrey Avenue yesterday and stole jewelry. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY

800 Hartrey

A burglar gained access to a home in the 800 block of Hartrey Avenue by climbing through an unlocked window between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. yesterday and stole jewlery.

100 Dewey

Burglars gained entry to two vehicles in the 100 block of Dewey Avenue by breaking windows between 11:45 a.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Clothing was taken from a 2003 Honda and miscellaneous items from a 2007 Toyota.

500 Sheridan

Personal documents were removed from an unlocked 2010 Mazda in the 500 block of Sheridan Road between 12:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

1200 Maple

Someone entered the unlocked garage of a home in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue between 4 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday and stole a Trek bicycle.

300 Callan

A purse was taken from an unlocked 2010 Cadillac in the 300 block of Callan Avenue between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

SHOTS HEARD

1600 Madison

Gunshots were reported in the 1600 block of Madison Street at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

THEFT

800 Greenleaf

A cell phone was stolen from a locker at Nichols Middle School in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

1400 Ashland

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2005 Honda in the 1400 block of Ashland Avenue between 8 p.m. Sept. 15 and 8 p.m. the following day.

Green Bay at McCormick

A black specialized Hybrid bicycle was taken from a park at Green Bay Road and McCormick Boulevard between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

800 Hamlin

Someone stole the wheels from a bicycle secured to a bike rack in the 800 block of Hamlin Street between Aug. 20 and Aug. 27.

2200 Ridge

A delivered package was stolen from the lobby area of an apartment building in the 2200 block of Ridge Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

TRAFFIC

900 Asbury

Serafin Diaz-Garfias. 28, of 2220 W. Chase Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 900 Asbury Ave. at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation.

Golf at Crawford

Isaiah G. Hughey, 34, of 1631 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at Golf Road and Crawford Avenue at 7:06 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation.

623 Howard

Dontrell Chavez McCondichie, 30, of 2141 E. 67th St., was arrested at 623 Howard St. at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation.

141 Clyde

Jabena Miller, 35, of 144 Clyde Ave., was arrested at 141 Clyde Ave. at 10:17 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation.

2100 Church

Patricia V. Shepherd, 49, of 8900 Bennett Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 2100 Church St. at 7:58 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.
