Burglar takes power tools from open garage

Burglary occurs overnight on Sunday.

An open garage in the 1700 block of Grove Street provided an opportunity for a burglar to grab some power tools. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY

1700 Grove

Power tools were removed from an open garage in the 1700 block of Grove Street between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. yesterday.

1800 Brown

Personal items were taken from an unlocked 2007 Honda in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue between 9:15 p.m. yesterday and 3:04 a.m. today.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

1600 Simpson

Someone scratched the passenger side of a 2020 Nissan in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Simpson Street between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. yesterday.

SHOTS HEARD

1900 Dodge

A resident reported hearing three gunshots in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue at 7:02 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

THEFT

600 Chicago

Household products were taken from a retail establishment in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at 10:17 a.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
