Burglary

1800 Hartrey

Burglars forced open the rear door to an apartment in the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. yesterday and stole cash.

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Ashley B. Smith, 26, of 806 Sherman Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:53 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. Smith is due in court on Nov. 8 at 9 a.m.

Criminal Damage

2100 Dobson

Someone keyed the hood, left fender, driver’s door, left rear door, and trunk of a 2006 Mitsubishi in the 2100 block of Dobson Street between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

Howard at Clyde

Gunshots were reported at Howard Street and Clyde Avenue at 9:45 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Traffic

Ridge at Lake

Shanika A. Triplett, 22, of 208 S. Campbell Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Lake Street at 9 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Dec. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
