An unlocked door provided access for burglars to an apartment in the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:01 a.m. yesterday. A purse and a tablet computer were reported missing.
Battery
1413 Howard
Jesse Gonzalez, 51, of 1712 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1413 Howard St. at 8:40 p.m. yesterday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Nov. 18 at 9 a.m.
Theft
1600 Chicago
A bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue between noon on Friday and 10 a.m. yesterday.
Traffic
101 Asbury
Justin Christopher Burgess, 22, of 1514 W. 72d Place, Chicago, was arrested at 101 Asbury Ave. at 6:58 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 31 at 10:30 a.m.
1626 Dempster
Luco Perez, 49, of 1321 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1626 Dempster St. at 8:31 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
