A backpack, cash, and a camera were stolen from an unlocked apartment in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2200 Ridge

A burglar entered an apartment in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue through an unlocked door between 8:30 p.m.  and 9:30 p.m. yesterday and stole a backpack, cash, and a camera.

Criminal Damage

1400 Monroe

Someone broke and ripped several large branches from a tree in the yard of a home in the 1400 block of Monroe Street between 8 p.m. Monday and 8:52 a.m. yesterday.

Theft

1500 Sherman

Credit cards were taken from a wallet at the Holiday Inn at 1501 Sherman Ave. between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

1206 Hull

Richard S. Gill, 24, of 325 Custer Ave., was arrested at 1206 Hull Terrace at 8:54 p.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on May 23 at 9 a.m.

1911 Howard

Adam Q. Yavitz, 34, of 12375 Legend Lakes Drive, Roscoe, Ill., was arrested at 1911 Howard St. at 7:40 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on June 22 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
