Pace says changes to its 208 and 213 bus routes in Evanston will go into effect next week.

Route 208 buses will shift their route — no longer running on Skokie Boulevard between Golf Road and Church Street or on Church Street between Skokie Boulevard and Dodge Avenue.

Instead the buses will run on Golf Road and Emerson Street from Skokie Boulevard to Dodge Avenue and then on Dodge to Church Street.

The change to the Pace 208 route is tied to the planned elimination of the CTA’s Route 205, which has run along Golf Road.

For Route 213, all weekday and Saturday trips that serve the CTA Purple Line Davis Station in Evanston will be extended, primarily along Chicago Avenue, to the CTA Red Line Howard Station.

Certain weekday peak hour trips traveling between the Howard CTA Station and Green Bay Road/Oak Street in Winnetka will also serve Chicago Avenue and Green Bay Road in Evanston and reach Evanston Township High School via Church Street, Dodge Avenue, Simpson Street and Ashland Avenue.

Morning buses are scheduled to reach Church and Dodge at 6:46 a.m., 7:18 a.m., 7:48 a.m. 8:18 a.m. and 8:48 a.m. Afternoon buses are scheduled to leave Church and Dodge at 2:25 p.m., 3:51 p.m., 4:18 p.m., 4:48 p.m., 5:20 p.m. and 5:55 p.m.

At the Davis CTA Station, Route 213 will not operate on Benson Avenue. Riders who wish to access Davis CTA Station can use bus stops at the Church Street/Benson Avenue intersection (southbound) and Davis Street/Benson Avenue (northbound).

Full schedules and maps for the two routes are available on the Pace website.

  1. Bus service from Chicago Av to ETHS beginning 13-Aug

The buses to ETHS from southeast Evanston are approximately 30 minutes apart. Since most ETHS students begin class at the same time, PACE needs more frequency of service to solve this situation.
