Evanston city crews will start hauling snow out of business districts tonight.
Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says they’ll hit the Central Street and Noyes Street districts starting around 7 p.m. and then move to the downtown area about 11 p.m.
Maiworm thanked residents who moved their cars to help crews clear side streets today. “Quite a lot of progress was made,” he added.
Snow emergency parking restrictions continue tomorrow, and residents shound park cars on the even-numbered side of the street.
Thanks for the warning!
The notice is appreciated!
Sleeping in a downtown Evanston apartment can be a bit of a challenge with snow hauling trucks going "beep-beep-beep" between the wee hours of 2am and 5am.
Haven’t slept for two nights due to this
Two nights ago, stayed at my boyfriend's house, and this went on for two hours in the middle of the night. Now, across town, I am crying and incredibly frustrated becuase yet again, i am not allowed to sleep. Which genius decided that this should be done on nights before people have to go to work? This is awful. I can't express how angry and upset I am. Terrible planning. Looks like tomorrow will be another wasted day. Thanks Evanston!
