The City of Evanston’s Office of Sustainability announced today that area businesses have an extra month to sign up for ComEd’s Smart Ideas for Your Business program.

The deadline has been extended from Jan. 31 to Feb. 28.

The program has set aside $350,000 for Evanston businesses. If the reserved funding is not spent, the funds will be returned and reallocated to projects on ComEd’s waiting list. The reserved dollars for the 2009 program year ensure that Evanston businesses will be able to participate in this program to "go green and save green.”

Now in its second year, the ComEd Smart Ideas for Your Business program offers incentives to implement cost effective energy efficiency improvements for commercial and industrial customers.

If a business has a project that meets the ComEd Smart Ideas for Your Business criteria and would like to apply for Evanston’s reserved program allotment through the CEC, contact Carolyn Collopy, Sustainable Programs Coordinator for the City of Evanston, at [email protected] or 847-448-8069.
