Busy weekend for gunshot reports

Officers checked out three reports of gunshots heard in various locations over the weekend, on Custer Avenue, Keeney Street, and Seward Street. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Assault

1900 Foster

A handgun was pointed at a victim on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of Foster Street at 5:53 p.m. Friday. Suspect is a 5-foot-11-inch-tall black male weighing 140 pounds.

Battery

335 Howard

Brandy Walker, 18, and Brittany E. Walker, 23, both of 6555 N. Washtenaw Ave., Chicago, were arrested at 335 Howard St. at 8:45 p.m. Saturday and charged with simple battery. They are due in court on June 1 at 9 a.m.

100 Elmwood

Cortez F. Tate, 24, of 8810 S. Elizabeth, Chicago, was arrested at 100 Elmwood Ave. at 6:40 p.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on April 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

800 Foster

Someone damaged a door and a peep hole in an unsuccessful burglary attempt at a home in the 800 block of Foster Street around 1 a.m. today.

Criminal Damage

100 Asbury

A window was broken at a restaurant in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at 9:24 a.m. yesterday.

1400 Elmwood

Someone damaged the wall at Evanston police headquarters in the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue around 4:13 a.m. today.

600 Case

A 2012 Honda was scratched in the 600 block of Case Place between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 6:50 a.m. Saturday.

Other

Foster at Grey

Sheldon C. Graham, 18, of 2011 Grey Ave., was arrested at Foster Street and Grey Avenue at 6:33 p.m. Friday and charged with disorderly conduct. He is due in court on May 24 at 9 a.m.

1101 Lake Shore

Yesenia L. Quinones, 22, of 5243 W. Ohio St., Chicago, was arrested at 1101 Lake Shore Blvd. at 12:50 a.m. yesterday and charged with an alcohol ordinance violation. A court date has been set for May 19 at 9 a.m.

Shots heard

Keeney at Dodge

Gunshots were reported at Keeney Street and Dodge Avenue at 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

1800 Seward

Gunshots were reported in the 1800 block of Seward Street at 10:23 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

300 Custer

Gunshots were reported in the 300 block of Custer Avenue at about 1 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

2200 Howard

Multiple DVDs of movies were taken from a department store in the 2200 block of Howard Street at 12:20 p.m. Friday. Suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch-tall black male weighing 190 pounds.

1100 Chicago

A box of massage oil cosmetics was taken from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue between 4:40 p.m. and 5:39 p.m. Friday.

1000 Grove

A pink and white wallet left unattended was taken from an athletic club in the 1000 block of Grove Street around 7:17 p.m. Saturday.

1128 Chicago

Steven D. Cassata, 39, of 2230 McDonough, Joliet, was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 1:45 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on June 1 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

1804 Foster

Renee R. King, 51, of 1817 Foster St., was arrested at 1804 Foster St. at 3:45 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for May 10 at 9 a.m.

827 Chicago

Taibou Oladipo, 52, of 1631 W. Chase, Chicago, was arrested at 827 Chicago Ave. at 9:05 p.m. Friday  and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for May 17 at 9 a.m.

7460 Ridge

Earnest A. Toussaint, 33, of 14542 University Ave., Dalton, was arrested at 7460 Ridge Ave. at 11:44 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for May 24 at 9 a.m.

1507 Howard

Victor M. Trinidad-Miranda, 26, of 4249 W. Potomac, Chicago, was arrested at 1507 Howard St. at 7:33 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for May 27 at 9 a.m.

400 Asbury

Jesus Salinas, 36, of 2354 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 400 Asbury Ave. at 3:10 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for May 27 at 1:30 p.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
