An Evanston cab driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman on Chicago’s north side.

Chicago police say Fred Batrony, 55, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue, faces aggravated kidnapping and criminal sexual abuse charges.

He allegedly picked up a 24-year-old woman who hailed his cab near Fullerton Avenue and Clark Street about 11:30 p.m. Friday and drove to a secluded area where he got into the rear seat of the cab and sexually abused her.

After he let her go, the woman called police, who arrested Batrony Saturday morning at the cab company where he worked.
