Now that the pandemic has forced just about everybody to learn how to meet virtually, the new year is starting with a flurry of opportunities for Evanstonians to meet local candidates online.

The Central Street Neighbors Association will hold an online mayoral candidates forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, and the Southeast Evanston Association will hold one at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19. For information on accessing the SEA event, email info@southeastevanston.org.

The three mayoral candidates, Daniel Biss, Lori Keenan and Sebastian Nalls, will face each other in the primary election on Feb. 23.

In addition, the Democratic Party of Evanston is holding online interviews with more than two dozen candidates for various offices this week.

Biss has also scheduled an online town hall session for next Monday at 6 p.m. — a time that conflicts with a meeting of the City Council that in the future he’d be presiding over if he’s elected mayor.
