Captain Peter A.Casey has announced his retirement from the Evanston Fire Department after a career that began 33 years ago.

The department and Casey ‘s crew will celebrate the occasion with a flag-lowering ceremony next week.

The ceremony will begin at 7 a.m. on Nov. 22 at Fire Station 3, located at 1105 Central St., to be followed by a Remembrance of the Fallen Ceremony immediately after.

Fire Chief  Brian Scott said that Casey’s “passion for helping others in need combined with his toughness and no-nonsense approach made him an excellent firefighter, paramedic, and company officer.”
