A valet at Evanston Hospital lost control of a car he was retrieving from the hospital parking garage this afternoon and the vehicle ended up crashing into a garage wall, leaving the valet trapped inside.
Evanston Fire Division Chief Tom Janetske says fire paramedics managed to treat the 56-year-old man for his injuries while they were extracting him from the damaged car. He was taken to the hospital emergency room with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Janetske says it was amazing that no one else was injured during the incident that occurred about 4 p.m.
He says that city inspectors concluded there was no structural damage to the parking garage building from the accident.
