Evanston police say an eastbound car crossed the center line in the 3000 block of Central Street in Evanston about 10:30 this morning and struck a school bus.

Cmdr. Ryan Glew says only the driver was in the bus, which was parked after delivering students to the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian for a field trip.

The driver of the car was transported to Evanston Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and she was issued a traffic citation, Glew says.

The bus driver was not hurt.
