A driver lost control of her car while rounding the curve on Asbury Avenue at Crain Street in Evanston around 4 o’clock this afternoon.

The car jumped the curb and ended up plowing through a hedge into the front yard of a home at 1145 Asbury, scraping some of the bark off a tree at the property line.

Police blocked off northbound traffic on Asbury at Greenleaf while a tow truck driver from North Shore Towing worked to get the car out of the yard.

Update 6:25 p.m.: Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew says no one was injured seriously enough to require transported to the hospital, but there was an arrest for suspected driving under the influence.
