Last week they were smashing the rear windshields while this week they’re denting the driver’s side door. Three incidents involving damage to parked cars yesterday are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Criminal Damage

600 Main

The driver’s side door was dented on a 2014 Mercedes in a parking lot in the 600 block of Main Street between 8 a.m. and 5:54 p.m. yesterday.

The driver’s side door was dented on a 2017 Toyota in a parking lot in the 600 block of Main Street between 6:30 a.m. and 6:25 p.m. yesterday.

700 Chicago

The driver’s side door was dented on a 2013 Volkswagen in a parking lot in the 700 block of Chicago Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday.

1900 Dempster

Sheldon J. Morales, 37, of 1710 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1900 Dempster St. at 1:27 p.m. Monday and charged with criminal damage to property.

Battery

1501 Sherman

Christopher Allen Early, 33, of 3124 N. Southport Ave., Chicago was arrested at 1501 Sherman Ave. at 4:36 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on June 5 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1300 Fowler

A burglar attempted to enter a condominium in the 1300 block of Fowler Avenue by pushing the window open between 9:06 a.m. and 9:23 a.m. yesterday.

1500 Pitner

A burglar entered a home in the 1500 block of Pitner Avenue between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday and stole credit and debit cards.

Graffiti

300 Dodge

Grafffiti was discovered on a public building in the 300 block of Dodge Avenue at 10:17 a.m. yesterday.

500 Dempster

Graffiti was discovered in an alley in the 500 block of Dempster Street at 3:31 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1000 Grove

A purse, cash, and a cell phone were taken while unattended from the McGaw YMCA around 4:22 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Orrington

Glasses were taken while unattended at the main Evanston Public Library between 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. yesterday.

610 Dempster

Danyell Eugene Burton, 40, of 4615 Clifton Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 610 Dempster St. at 5:10 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on June 18 at 1:30 p.m.

1616 Chicago

Jennifer Maling Slota, 20, of 1715 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 1616 Chicago Ave. at 6:26 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.

Traffic

7530 Paulina

John Jean Phillippe-Simon, 25, of 1610 Mulford St., was arrested at 7530 N. Paulina St., Chicago, at 1 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on July 10 at 9 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
