Evanston police report more than a dozen incidents in which residents reported their car windows shattered by vandals or would-be thieves during the past 48 hours.

The latest wave of incidents were discovered Wednesday morning by residents in the 1000 and 1100 blocks of South Boulevard and the 1200 block of Cleveland, all in the 9th Ward, and the 1600 block of Kirk Street and the 400 block of Dewey, both in the 8th Ward. In all total of seven cars had one or more widows broken out.

Late Tuesday night 9th Ward residents discovered  five other cars with windows broken — in the 500 and 600 blocks of Barton Avenue and the 1100 block of Cleveland Street.

In addition, one car 1600 block of Payne Street in West Evanston’s 5th Ward, also had a window broken out Tuesday night.

The victims were unable to provide a description of the vandals in any of the incidents. There were no reports of anything being taken from the cars.
