A landlord showed up at City Council this week to complain that the city-owned house next to her building is a blight on the neighborhood.

The property, at 1509 Emerson St., purchased for the NSP2 rehab program, proved to be too damaged to restore. The city says it plans to demolish it, but so far hasn’t done so.

  1. WOW!

It is sad to say but the cartoon was 100 percent on target. How could this happen. It appears that the city spends our tax dollars like a drunken sailor but never bothers to do their homework. Sounds like Evanston is modeling itself after our federal government.

When will they learn that spend, spend, spend has never worked in the history of our country.
