  1. banned from web site

    Ponzi –
Don’t feel bad about being banned from Alderman Rainey’s web blog. Several years ago, members of the Coalition for Appropriate Development and the Evanston Small Business Association were banned from her site when we objected to the Downtown Redevelopment Project. We tried to post on her site that the project would not generate an $18 million dollar surplus for the city of Evanston by 2010 as promised. We also tried to inform her constituents about the probability of Independent businesses closing their doors (which happened), that other chain stores would be cannibalized from other parts of Downtown Evanston (which happened), and that the project was so flawed, that the ramification would be to develop the lake front in order to make up for the losses (which is happening). Forget about posting the corruption that was involved.
Rainey is a believer in closed door meetings and releasing to the public only what she wants them to know. What her constituents should know is that next to former Alderman Arthur B. Newman, no Alderman has ever driven more businesses, jobs, and tax revenue out of Evanston then her.
Consider being on Alderman Rainey’s ‘banned’ list a badge of honor. I do.
  2. Good Grief

Tom- It certainly appears you did your best to inform others and present a different opinion. Neither of which are allowed on the "Great 8th Message Board". If you follow it, you will quickly see those with dissenting opinions are "exterminated" with the simple explanation of "This is my board. I pay for it.." blah blah. Only those who praise and support her are allowed to speak. However, we all know Ann Rainey reads this and many other web sites. Sorry Ann. We still have voices.
