Cell phones were among items stolen at the McGaw YMCA and the main Evanston library. These were among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

1000 Grove

A cell phone, keys, credit card, and clothing were stolen from a locker at the McGaw YMCA  shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Orrington

A cell phone was taken from the main Evanston library in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue between 3:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday. A short time later, Daniel A. Kirk, 20, of 2401 Silver Creek Drive, Franklin Park, was arrested and charged with theft. He is due in court on April 16 at 1:30 p.m.

Criminal Damage

Main at Hinman

Someone broke a mirror on a  2001 Mercury near Main Street and Hinman Avenue around 5:52 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

129 Asbury

Johnny Knox, 51, of 1429 Oakton St., was arrested at 129 Asbury Ave. at 2:52 a.m. today and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on May 9 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
