A portion of Evanston, Skokie, and Glenview is scheduled for targeted adult mosquito control operations Tuesday, from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m., weather permitting, according to the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District.

The area to be sprayed runs from Golf Road on the north to Dempster Street on the south, from McCormick Boulevard on the east to the Edens Expressway on the west.

Spraying has been stepped up this summer due to an increase in West Nile virus infections, which are spread by mosquitoes.
