
More than 40 shop windows along Central Street in Evanston will featured art work in a juried exhibition by Illinois artists throughout October.
The Evanston Art Walk, organized by the non-profit visual arts group Anatomically Correct, will also present a benefit/reception/silent auction and several merchants will host receptions as part of Arts Week Evanston.
The Benefit for the Evanston Art Walk will be be held at Taylor Street Italian Restaurant, 2916 Central St., from 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. Evanston Art Walk juror Nancie King Mertz will present awards to the artists.
Also, Debra Hatchett, Founder and Executive Director of Anatomically Correct and the Director of the Evanston Art Walk, will present their Supporter of the Arts award to Alan Leder, executive director of the Evanston Arts Center since 2003 and former Visual and Media Arts Director for 18 years at the Illinois Arts Council.
The reception is sponsored by Taylor Street and Whole Foods Market – Evanston and will feature a cash bar, and a silent auction of artwork and gift certificates to Evanston shops, restaurants and theaters. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door.
