168 kindergarden through eighth grade students participated in the Evanston Scholastic Chess Championship, held at Chute Middle School on Saturday, March 1. Students from fifteen different Evanston public and private school chess clubs played at the tournament.


Team winners in each section:

Kindergarden-First Grade Championship: Lincoln School

Second-Third Grade Championship: Lincolnwood School

Second and Third Grade Reserve: St. Athanasius School

Fourth-Fifth Grade Championship: Dewey School

Middle School Championship: Nichols Middle School

Fourth through Eighth Grade Reserve: Chute Middle School
