Battery

710 Hinman

John R. Turner, 40, of 744 Hinman Ave., was arrested at 710 Hinman Ave. at 7:15 a.m. Sunday and charged with domestic battery.

2400 Howard

Police checked out a report of a man with a gun in the 2400 block of Howard Street at 11:39 p.m. yesterday, but found no offenders in the area.

5131 Harding

Christopher N. Heim, 21, of 517 Longleaf Court, Nashville, Tenn., was arrested at 5131 Harding Place, Chicago, at 8 a.m. Tuesday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Theft

1500 Oak

A bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue between 10 p.m. Monday and 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

1600 Dodge

A cell phone was removed from a bag at Evanston Township High School between 2:50 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Leland

A blue 1997 Chevrolet Venture was stolen from the 1700 block of Leland Avenue between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday.

1640 Chicago

Harshika Kanwar, 31, of 1725 Orrington Ave., was arrested at 1640 Chicago Ave. at 4:11 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on May 24 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
