A Chicago man is facing eight felony drug charges after Evanston and Chicago police executed a search warrant at his home Friday afternoon.

Evanston Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther says that officers had to force their way into the apartment at 2716 W. Rosemont #1E on Chicago’s north side about 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Once inside, Guenther says, they found the man the Evanston officers had been looking for, David Z. Weiner, along with three other people who were not charged.

Police say they found a variety of drugs, including ecstasy, LSD, psilocybin, marijuana and nearly $2,000 in cash.

Weiner, 23, now faces charges of possession and intent to deliver the various drugs. He’s scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Nov. 9, in Skokie district court.
