Update: 11:45 a.m. 7/7/20: A 31-year-old Chicago man has died, the victim of an apparent accidental drowning Monday evening at Evanston’s Clark Street Beach.

Evanston Police Cmdr. Brian Henry say officers called to the beach about 8:23 p.m. found a beachgoer in the water attempting to pull a man out of the water with the help of Fire Department paramedics who’d also arrived on the scene.

The paramedics started CPR and other life saving measures immediately, Henry says, and transported Marco Quito to Evanston Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Henry says there are no indications of foul play, and police detectives are handling the incident as a death investigation.
