Evanston police say a 26-year-old Chicago man is in stable condition at Evanston Hospital after being shot in the buttocks late Thursday night in the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue.

Police spokesman Perry Polinski said the man was visiting friends on the block when he stepped out into a gangway and was shot by a lone gunman who emerged from the back yard.

Polinski says detectives are attempting to identify a suspect in the shooting, but that the victim, who has a history of gang ties, has so far been uncooperative.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the detective bureau at 847-866-5040 or provide information anonymously via text-a-tip by texting to CRIMES (274637) with EPD TIP in the message line followed by the tip information.

  1. Uncooperative victim

Should have let him bleed out little more before taking him to the hospital, he would have start talking! And hasn't this address been a main point of multiple crime activity?! Especially some of these questionable rental properties with revolving doors on these 5th ward blocks, where the neighbors like me have no idea who is actually living there?! Who is checking these rental licenses, is there a rule when it comes to these slum-loards keeping their rental license after a major crime like shooting has occured there?!

SO sick of these people! GTHO of Evanston if you are here to bring your gun trotting thug frinds with you!
