Evanston police overnight arrested three teenage suspects who allegedly beat a newspaper delivery man with a baseball bat and stole his minivan on Chicago’s north side.

Police say the three 16-year-olds were spotted driving the stolen van in the 900 block of Chicago Ave. almost a day after the attack.

The robbery happend about 4:30 a.m. Monday at 3031 N. Damen Ave. in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood. Police believe another attack about the same time a few blocks away may have been the work of the same trio of 16-year-olds — two men and a woman.

Charges reportedly have not yet been filed against the suspects.
