Parents of children under the age of three are invited to attend a special child safety workshop Saturday at the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 headquarters, 1500 McDaniel Ave., a preliminary step towards obtaining a free or low-cost car seat for their children.

The car seats will be distributed to parents on Wednesday, April 4, on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 9 a.m. But to be eligible for a free car seat, parents must first have attended the Saturday workshop.

To register for the workshop, which will be held from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., call the district at (847) 859-8550.
