Christopher English.

The Board of Trustees at Roycemore School in Evanston has named Christopher English its new head of school.

English will start at Roycemore July 1.

He most recently headed The Independent School in Wtchita, Kansas, and before that was associate head of school for curriculum and pedagogy and head of campus for The Barstow School in Kansas City, Missouri, and assistant head of school for teaching and learning at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University and a master’s in technical and professional writing from East Carolina University.

“Throughout the search process, Chris demonstrated his thoughtful approach to connecting with people, his focus on inclusion and belonging and his dedication to joining and advancing Roycemore’s community and culture,” said Board Chair Kathleen Scheidt.

Scheidt added that the overwhelming sentiment from the Roycemore community was that English will be “an effective leader who will drive the next phase of Roycemore’s future.”

English will succeed Adrianne Finley Odell, who’s been head of school at Roycemore since July 2017.
