First Church of God Christian Life Center, 1524 Simpson St. in Evanston, has named Pastor Monte L.G. Dillard Sr. as its new minister.
Dillard previously served as young adult pastor and in other roles at the First Church of God in Gary, Ind.

Search Committee Chair Carl Curry said Dillard will help bring the 450-member church to a new dimension as it begins its second century. “We are indeed blessed that God has sent him to us,” Curry added.
Dillard, who grew up in Gary, succeeds Pastor Rev. Michael D. Curry, who moved to Miami after 25 years at the church in Evanston.
