A full snow-plowing operation is being planned for Friday night into Saturday morning by Evanston crews to cope with an expected 1-2 inches of snow.

Already they’ve treated bridge decks and some main streets with anti-icing materials  to improve the effectiveness of the salt.

Overnight operations will primarily focus on main roads and secondary routes, with final clean-up on residential streets during daytime hours on Saturday, the city said.

Meanwhile, sidewalk crews are primed to clean up the downtown area early Saturday and continue until all bridge decks and outlying walks have been finished.

As of late Friday, it appeared to be unlikely that parking restrictions would be issued, the city said.
