With Evanston’s city manager now calling for a halt to property tax hikes, here’s a look at how the city tax burden has grown in Evanston over the past decade.

Basically the city’s tax levy has increased twice as fast as the consumer price index, while it’s grown roughly three times as much as the median income for Illinois residents.
