The City of Evanston’s Law Department has been named the winner of an award from the American Bar Association’s Section of State and Local Government Law.
It’s the only legal department the group is honoring with the award this year.
The department’s work in developing the city’s first-in-the-nation restorative justice housing program is cited by the ABA unit as the outstanding performance that’s being honored with the award.
The award to the department, headed by Nicholas Cummings, is scheduled to be presented at the ABA annual meeting in Chicago on Aug. 5.
