A number of city facilities in Evanston will be closed over the Memorial Day weekend, and waste and recycling collections will be affected next week.

The Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center will be closed to the public from May 26 through May 27. All Evanston Public Library facilities will be closed May 26 through May 27. The Evanston 3-1-1 Call Center will be closed on May 27.

The Chandler-Newberger Center and the Ecology Center will be closed May 25-27.

The Fleetwood-Jourdain Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 26, but it will be closed on May 27.

The Levy Senior Center, Noyes Cultural Arts Center, and the Robert Crown Center will be closed May 27.

All beaches will be open for the season starting May 25, including Memorial Day, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be no solid waste, yard waste, or recycling collections on Monday, May 27. All collections will occur one day later during the week. Condo garbage and recycling collections will return to the normal schedule on Thursday, May 30.

Parking meters and downtown parking garages will be free on Memorial Day. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored. Parking enforcement, meter repair, and the revenue office staff will not be working on Monday, and their offices will be closed.
