Evanston’s Health and Human Services Department and the Office of Emergency Preparedness are seeking more volunteers for the city’s Medical Reserve Corps program.

A recruitment and orientation session is set for Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Fire Department Headquarters, 909 Lake Street.

The mission of the corps is to establish teams of local volunteer medical and public health professionals who can contribute their skills and expertise throughout the year by supporting local public health initiatives, such as immunization and prevention activities as well as during times of community need.

When an emergency community need occurs, MRC volunteers can work in coordination with existing local emergency response programs.
