Evanston’s health department reported six new COVID-19 deaths today, bringing the death toll here from the pandemic to 47. There were five new cases today in Evanston raising the case count to 728.

Chicago reported 896 new cases today for a total of 46,733 and 13 more deaths for a total of 2,145.

Across Illinois there were 1,614 new cases for a total of 122,848 and 113 more deaths for a total of 2145.

The Illinois Department of Public Health today reported conducting 66 more COVID-19 tests in Evanston with three of the returning positive results, all from the south Evanston 60202 ZIP Code. Citywide that works out to a 4.6% positive rate.

Statewide 16,431 COVID-19 tests were reorted today, yielding a 9.8% positive rate. The average positive rate for the past 7 days was 6.5%
