Some trash and recycling collections may be delayed this week as crews continue to catch up from storms that dropped more than 20 inches of snow on Evanston last week.

Officials say crews worked through the weekend to make alleys passable for collections and to complete pickups missed the previous week.

Groot, the city’s trash contractor, has resumed collections and is making collections in the Monday zone today. City crews have resumed recycling collections and are completing collections missed on Wednesday and Thursday of last week.

The Public Works Agency is asking residents clear snow on and around containers and to place trash and recycling containers in their normal collection area on their regular collection day. If a collection was missed, please leave the containers in their normal collection area until crews are able to empty them.

The City anticipates resuming normal collections the week of March 1.
