People registering their kids for City of Evanston summer camps won’t have to wait for lottery results this year to find out if their child is successfully enrolled, thanks to what city officials are describing as a new, simplified camp registration process.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, summer camp registration will be open from 8 a.m. to noon for Evanston residents — people who live in zip codes 60201 and 60202 only. Registrations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration will take place online and at the Robert Crown Community Center, 1701 Main St.

To register online you need to create an online account at least 24 hours in advance.

Registration requires proof of residency and a $25 deposit for each camp session.

Registration will reopen for Evanston residents on Monday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. online, in person at Evanston community centers and by calling/texting 847-448-4311.

The summer camp guide is available now online. Printed camp guides will be available at Evanston community centers starting next week and a limited number of guides will also be available at the main Evanston Public Library.
