City’s networks down

The City of Evanston’s phone and computer networks are down at this hour, but calls to the 911 emergency line are still getting through.

City spokeswoman Martha Logan says workers are still trying to determine the cause of the outage, which began around the noon hour, and there’s no estimate yet of when the service will be restored.

Update 4:10 p.m.: The city’s phone system and website came back online shortly before 4 p.m.
