City of Evanston Corporation Counsel Grant Farrar will leave the city this spring for a new job.

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz announced today that Farrar is to join GovHR USA, a firm that offers recruiting, temp staffing and management and human resources consulting services to governments and non-profits.

He’ll become a senior vice president focusing on the firm’s federal portfolio and client development.

GovHR USA was founded in 2011 by Joellen Earl, a former human resources director for the City of Evanston, and Heidi Voorhees, a former village manager for the Village of Wilmette.

In announcing the resignation, Bobkiewicz said, “Grant has done an outstanding job as Corporation Counsel reorganizing the Law Department, guiding the City through many challenging cases and was a leader in helping the community navigate the process to dissolve Evanston Township.”

Farrar’s last day with the city is scheduled for April 6.
