No proposals offered at Harley Clarke session

The City of Evanston held an event this evening designed to let would-be applicants to restore the Harley Clarke mansion preview their plans -- but no one showed up to offer a proposal.

Emily Guthrie of Evanston Lakehouse and Gardens made a brief statement promising that the group -- which was the unsuccessful bidder in an earlier round efforts by the city to find a user for the lakefront mansion -- would be submitting a revised proposal this time.

About 20 people showed up for the session in the Parasol Room at the Civic Center.

City officials plan to hold a similar meeting in November and close out the request for proposals submission period next February.
