The Evanston Community Foundation is now accepting proposals for project-based and capacity-building grants from nonprofit organizations serving the Evanston community.

The Foundation’s 2012-2013 Responsive Grants will fund projects in a broad range of program areas that will strengthen the community beyond the grant period. During its previous Responsive Grants cycle, the Foundation made 27 grants totaling $200,507.

Funding guidelines and application procedures are available on the group’s website.

Applications must be filed electronically through eGrant.net by midnight on Monday, Feb. 13.

The Foundation is offering office hours during which staff will be available to meet with grant seekers who have questions about applying for a grant.  Staff will be available on Monday, Jan. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 19, from 2:30 – 7 p.m.

The Evanston Community Foundation was established in 1986 as a publicly-supported philanthropic organization.

Helping Evanston thrive now and forever as a vibrant, inclusive, and just community, the Evanston Community Foundation builds, connects, and distributes resources and knowledge through local organizations for the common good.
