200 Ridge

Burglars pried open the front door to an apartment in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. yesterday and stole two computers and gaming software.

1100 Harvard

A white Trek hybrid bicycle was taken from the unlocked garage of a home in the 1100 block of Harvard Terrace between 1 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Monday.

8800 Gross Point

Powell Welborne, 36, of 600 N. Monticello Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 8800 Gross Point Road at 3:13 a.m. yesterday and charged with residential burglary.


300 Custer

Police found a gun on the sidewalk while checking on a report of a man seen with a gun in the 300 block of Custer Avenue at 3:15 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

900 Ashland

Gunshots were reported in the 900 block of Ashland Avenue at 12:05 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.


1500 Sherman

A purse was reported taken from a room at the Best Western Hotel in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between 8 p.m. Monday and midnight.

100 Asbury

Someone stole medication from the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue around 5:45 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
