Evanston police reported that a robber struck his victim in the head as he stole his bike and backpack along the sanitary canal in the 900 block of McDaniel Avenue. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

900 McDaniel

A known offender struck his 21-year-old male victim in the head, then stole his bicycle and backpack at Harbert Park, alongside the canal in the 900 block of McDaniel Avenue, at about 8 p.m. yesterday. The victim’s injuries were not serious and did not require hospitalization, police said.

Burglary

2400 Lake

A burglar broke the side window in an unsuccessful attempt to enter a garage at a home in the 2400 block of Lake Street between 7:30 a.m. and 4:33 p.m. yesterday. 

600 Oakton

Maurice Wade, 38, of 1747 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 600 Oakton St. at 7:22 a.m. yesterday and charged with burglary.

Pitner at Church

Rashad Koree Morris, 24, of 725 Seventh St., Northfield, was arrested at Pitner Avenue and Church Street at 7 p.m. Sunday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m.
