Police arrested a parolee with a loaded handgun in a tot lot in the 600 block of Mulford Street last night at about 11:15 p.m.

They had responded to a call from a citizen who noted there were people in the park after hours.

Upon entering the park, police encountered a male and female and found the gun in the man’s waistband. He was taken into custody and identified as Brandon Henry, 29, of 7425 N. Wolcott Ave., Chicago.

He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a valid firearm owners identification card, and occupying a park after hours.

Henry is due in Skokie Circuit Court on July 8 at 9 a.m.
