Cops nab TV sportscaster on DUI charges

TV sportscaster Mike Adamle of Evanston is scheduled to appear in Skokie district court Feb. 14 on charges of driving under the influence.

Adamle, 61, a former star player on the Northwestern University football team who spent seven years in the NFL, was taken into custody early Monday after reportedly failing to stop for a traffic signal at Main Street and Sheridan Road and failing a field sobriety test.

Adamle, who’s been working as a weekend sportscaster for WMAQ-TV,  has held a variety of other sports broadcasting jobs with national networks and Chicago stations.
