Evanston police say a report of a burglary in progress Friday has led to two arrests.

Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther says officers responding to the call about 10:26 a.m. in the 700 block of Case Street saw two subjects matching the description of the burglars and chased after them, stopping them near St. Francis Hospital.

Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther says officers responding to the call about 10:26 a.m. in the 700 block of Case Street saw two subjects matching the description of the burglars and chased after them, stopping them near St. Francis Hospital.

Both suspects later were identified by witnesses to the burglary attempt, and police say they made statements that indicated they’d been involved in the crime.

Vashaun Richard Jackson, 21 of 120 Clyde #1A in Evanston was charged with criminal trespass. He’s scheduled to appear March 28 in Skokie district. court.

Guenther says the juvenile was found in possession of stolen computers taken in an earlier burglary in the 600 block of South Boulevard. He’s facing charges of burglary and criminal trespass.
